Ikigai (pronounced ee-kee-guy) is a Japanese idea. It means ‘a reason for being’ or having purpose. We help seniors live longer and stay independent in northeast Florida.

Empowering seniors to embrace longevity, and maintain independence

We take care of you or your loved one as if they are family.

Longevity and Purpose, why does it matter?

  • Studies have shown that individuals who actively seek to find their ikigai (reason for being) demonstrate higher self-esteem and a feeling that their presence in the world is justified.
  • In addition, ikigai is associated with a 31% lower risk of developing functional disability and a 36% lower risk of developing dementia over a three-year follow-up period among older adults.
  • People who have a clear sense of ikigai tend to live longer and experience better overall health.
  • Research indicates that life purpose and ikigai are strongly interrelated, suggesting that services addressing both aspects can significantly improve quality of life for older adults.
  • According to recent studies, approximately 15.5% of adults aged 65 and older reported being told by a health professional that they had a depressive disorder. Moreover, this statistic highlights the importance of mental health awareness among seniors.
  • The number of U.S. adults with depressive disorders is projected to increase significantly. Specifically, this increase is expected to be as much as 117% among those aged 65 years and older.
  • Regular exercise can slow the body’s natural decline with age, reducing functional ability loss from 70% to 30% by age 90 in active individuals compared to sedentary ones.

Sometimes the initial call is with the client themselves. Regardless, we spend time understanding the person and ways we can help them find their Ikigai.

02

Plan Development

Next, we will work with you to create a personalized plan to help you achieve your goals.

03

Execution of the Plan

Finally, our dedicated team will implement your personalized plan.
